Sistema elevates SSTL's Vsevolod Rozanov to group CFO

Sistema ventured into Indian telecom space with Rozanov as CEO of its joint venture Sistema Shyam TeleService in 2008

Russian conglomerate Sistema today announced the elevation of Vsevolod Rozanov as the new Senior Vice-President and CFO of the company.

The "new appointments to Sistema's Management Board with effect from June 1, 2013" include appointment of Rozanov "as Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer", Sistema said in a statement.

Sistema ventured into Indian telecom space with Rozanov as CEO of its joint venture Sistema Shyam TeleService in 2008.

He continued to the position after the Supreme Court cancelled 21 out of 22 licences of SSTL in February 2012.

Under Rozanov leadership, SSTL acquired fresh permits to continue operations in 8 circles, excluding Rajasthan business where its licence was not effected by the apex court judgement.

Sistema had earlier approved appointment of Dmitry Shukov as new CEO of SSTL in place of Rozanov. Shukov earlier held senior management positions in Tele2 Russia and MTS.

The Russian conglomerate holds 56.68% stake in SSTL along with Russian government which has 17.14% in the firm. Rest of the stake is held by company's Indian partner Shyam Teleservices.

Other significant appointments to Sistema's management board include appointment of Alexey Buyanov as First Vice-President, Portfolio Manager, and Alexey Chupin as Vice-President, Portfolio Manager.

The board also recommended two new Directors Sergei Boev and Peter Mandelson who will replace Vyacheslav Kopiev and Evgeny Novitsky.

The size of the board and the level of independent directors will remain unchanged totalling 13 and 8 members, respectively, the statement added.
