Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL), a public sector power company, hasdeclared a dividend of Rs 320 crore for the last fiscal year(2008-09).
The Government of India owns 75 per cent of the company while the remaining is owned by the Himachal Pradesh government.
An official spokesman said .the company had already paid an interim dividend of Rs 82.5 crore.
A cheque for Rs 157.5 crore was presented by the SJVNL’s chief H.K.Sharma to the secretary, power HS.Brahma on Thursday in New Delhi.
Sharma said the company had earned a total .of Rs 2,029 crore against Rs 1,582 crore the previous year (07-08).
In the last fiscal.the company’s flagship project the 1,500 Mw Nathpa Jhakri power station, the country’s largest hydro power project generated a record 6,609 million units.
