SKF India Limited, a bearings, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrication systems supplier company inaugurated its solution factory at its Pune facility.

This move was taken with an aim to have all of the company's offerings from its five technology platforms available under one roof for its customers and provide them with customised solutions.

The company releases Rs 100 crore every eighteen months for the up-gradation of its facilities in Pune and Bangalore. The funds for the setting up of this solution factory were diverted from this very investment.

"The SKF Solution Factory will give customers around the world an access to a unique process and wide range of application knowledge. With 7 SKF solution factories that have already been established in different places around the globe, 10 more are being set-up in 2009 currently," Tom Johnstone, SKF Group President and CEO said. The company aims to establish 34 similar solution factories in two years' time out of which this is the seventh one.

The company has also invested close to Rs 450 crore in the two new upcoming production sites in Haridwar and Ahmedabad each.
