SkodaAuto India commissions expanded assembly line

Czech auto maker SkodaAuto has commissioned an expanded assembly line at its Shendra facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

The doubling of the production capacity to 30,000 units was announced by the company in the presence of visting Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus.

"By expanding our current manufacturing premises, we are preparing for the next stage of Skoda history in India," Horst Muehl, chairman of SkodaAuto, said.

Imran Hassen, managing director of SkodaAuto India, said: "The subsidiary is on its way to become a manufacturing hub for the South Asian region."
