SKS Microfinance Ltd, the only public listed microfinance company in the country, has reported a ten-fold jump in net profit at Rs 27.11 crore for the quarter ended Mar 31, 2014, as compared with Rs 2.70 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Total income for the quarter increased 44.52 per cent to Rs 147.37 crore from Rs 101.97 crore in the year ago period. Expenditure rose by 9.67 per cent at Rs 65.21 crore as compared to Rs 59.46 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
For the full year, the company's net profit stood at Rs 69.95 crore as compared to a net loss of Rs 297.13 crore. While the total income was up by 6.97 per cent at Rs 544.83 crore as compared with Rs 509.34 crore in the previous year.
