He criticised the lobby against the project that has been entangled in controversies over acquisition of farm land, and praised the state government for a industry-friendly attitude.
Stating that the plant was caught in a political cross-fire amid a lot of misinformation, Tata said the project would emerge as a turning point for West Bengal's industrial development.
Tata said the company has already placed orders for equipment for its Singur project, and the company was working hard to meet the deadline.
"In addition to that, Telcon, a Tata Motors subsidiary engaged in manufacturing and sale of construction equipment, and Tata Power are also looking at investments in West Bengal," Tata said.
