Snapdeal ties up with payment firm to set up e-commerce stores

The stores assisted by Snapdeal will cater to areas that do not have internet connections

E-commerce firm Snapdeal.com has tied up with payment technology firm FINO Paytech to provide assited e-commerce centres in areas which do not have internet access.

Snapdeal and FINO plan is to set up assisted outlets across 65 cities and over 70,000 rural areas by the end of this FY 14-15. FINO plans to use its network of stores under the brand 'Money Mart' for this initiative.

Some of places where the stores come up include Dharavi in Mumbai, Varanasi, Valsad in Gujrat and urban villages of Nodia, Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Jaipur.

FINO Paytech plans to provide 1000 products such as spearkers, juicer, diner sets, mobiles, cameras of Snapdeal to users.

"These products offer a high value proposition and have been curated on an exclusive page requiring login by FINO agent, who would place an order, collect payment, receive and deliver to people who have no permanent address," Snapdeal and FINO Paytech said in a release.
