Snapdeal to increase warehousing capacity by 50% in Haryana, says CM M L Khattar

The e-commerce giant already has five fulfilment centres in the state

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said Snapdeal plans to increase its warehousing capacity by 50% in his state.

Speaking after addressing a road show for the upcoming Global Investors Summit, which is scheduled to be held on March 7 and 8 at Gurgaon, he said the e-commerce major plans to increase its capacity by 50%.

He inaugurated the complex of Snapdeal in Gurgaon in November last year.

"Snapdeal is a unique example to usher in start-up business revolution. More than 5,000 people are employed in the Snapdeal complex at Gurgaon," said the Chief Minister.

In Haryana, Snapdeal has five fulfillment centres (warehouse) with 2 lakh square feet capacity that provide direct and indirect employment to more than 40,000 persons.

 

Khattar said that during the past year, 1,681 micro and small industries as well as nine medium and large industrial units have been set up in the State. They have made an investment of Rs 1,327 crore and have provided employment to 39,400 persons.
