French bank Societe Generale today said it has opened its third branch in India. The new branch in Sanand, Gujarat will offer the bank's local and multinational corporate clients all the banking services, it said.
"This is our third branch in India, and we look to further enhance our relationship with our Indian clients by getting closer to them. Gujarat has been chosen as our first step for expanding our presence beyond Mumbai and New Delhi because it is a very dynamic and diversified market, with industrial growth being amongst the highest in India," Marc-Emmanuel Vives, chief executive and group chief country officer at Societe Generale in India, said in a statement.
"The market is flourishing with numerous companies foraying into various industries like chemical, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, and engineering. Gujarat is a forward looking state with enormous support from the state government to attract new investments," he added.
