Schablona India Ltd, a Kolkata based producer of designer tiles, is planning to set up a new plant at Kadi near Ahmadabad, in the middle of next year. |
"We have acquired the land and the construction would commence somewhere in the middle of next year, depending upon the performance of the company," said, HL Somany, chairman, Schablona India Ltd. |
The company would invest around Rs 4 crore for the plant. |
"It would be our second plant, and we intend to import some machineries worth Rs 20 lakh, from Italy for the set up," he added. |
The company is also all set to introduce a Glass decorating and Ceramic decorating shop, in the Kolkata plant from next month. "The shop would facilitate bottle and glass printing," he explained. |
Somany said that the company expects a turn over of Rs 12 core and above in the current fiscal, which would be 33 percent higher than the last year. |
"Our profit is growing continuously over the last five years and in the quarter ending 30th June we have achieved a turnover of Rs 3.18 crore, which is Rs 1.16 crore higher than the corresponding quarter last year," he explained. |
The chairman attributed the improved performance to the new business policies from 2003-04. |
"Owing to the stiff competition from the Chinese products we introduced the designer tiles in the market, and this led to turn around of the entity," he added. |
