Sonata Software Q2 net up 81%
Sonata Software, a Bangalore-based tier-II software services firm, with focus on travel and outsourced product development verticals has resulted in an 81 per cent jump in its net profit to Rs 21.63 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2008 as compared to same period of last fiscal. The topline for the quarter was up 25 per cent to Rs 418.67 crore.
Operating margin was up 85 per cent to Rs 43.1 crore as results of its acquisition during last year are starting to kick in. Sonata Software had acquired majority control in Germany-based TUI Infotech which is a focussed player in the travel vertical. Said B Ramaswamy, President & MD, Sonata Software: “Consistent growth over the past several quarters is a reflection of the quality of the customer base. Our focus on travel vertical and outsourced product development provides better visibility of revenues in this uncertain environment.”
NDTV Sept qtr net loss rises to Rs 13 cr
New Delhi Television (NDTV) has posted a net loss of Rs 13 crore for the quarter ended September, compared with a net loss of Rs 3.95 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. Total income increased by 12.21 per cent to Rs 76.2 crore from Rs 67.91 crore.
