Sonata Software, a Bangalore-based travel and outsourced services firm, has posted consolidated profit after tax (PAT) increase of 27 per cent at Rs 19.90 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, as compared to Rs 15.68 crore posted in same period last year.
Consolidated revenues for the quarter were up 7 per cent at Rs 387.75 crore, compared to Rs 361.1 crore a year earlier.
Net profit on a sequential basis dropped 8 per cent from Rs 21.63 crore posted in the September quarter. Sequentially, the topline fell 7.3 per cent from Rs 418.67 crore posted in the September quarter.
Total cash generated from operations stood at Rs 47.68 crore. The cash reserve position remained healthy at Rs 109.65 crore with return on capital employed (ROCE) at 30.21 per cent (24.87 per cent earlier). EPS on an annualised basis touched Rs 7.57 from Rs 5.97 in the previous year.
Sonata Software had acquired majority control in Germany-based TUI Infotech, a focussed player in the travel vertical, in the second quarter of fiscal 2009.
