A survey on ad spend and lifestyle preferences of Indian consumers has revealed that Mukesh and Anil Ambani are far behind their father, Dhirubhai Ambani, in terms of popularity. However, both the brothers have improved their positions after the settlement of the ownership issue.

The Internet survey has been conducted by the Delhi-based research firm Indicus Analytics. Since Thursday, 1900 respondents have participated in the survey.

The survey is a part of quarterly exercise of the firm to monitor ad spent and lifestyle preferences of Indian consumers.

Dhirubhai Ambani occupies the fourth position in the current survey. The first three slots are taken up Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar. Dhirubhai is, however, ahead of Bill Gates, Narayana Muthy and Azim Premji.

His sons, Mukesh and Anil, are nowhere near to him. They are in the 30s and 20s, respectively. Anil Ambani's image has, however, gone up by three notches to 24 from 27 in April (the last survey).
