"This fiscal year we are aiming to touch a turnover of Rs 4,000 crore, up from last year's Rs 3,000 crore," Sony India Managing Director Masaru Tamagawa told reporters here.

In order to achieve this, Sony is bringing in new products, such as fresh ranges of Vaio laptops and MP3 players by September.

"We also have plans to bring a new range of digital imaging products by January-February next year," Tamagawa said.

He added that the company currently has a share of 25 per cent in the one million units LCD TV market. "Our aim is to take it to 30 per cent in the next two years," Tamagawa said.

Tamagawa said to push sales for LCD television, the company is doubling its budget for advertising and marketing.

"This year we are spending Rs 60 crore compared to Rs 30 crore last year on advertising and marketing for LCD televisions," he said.

He said the company plans to sell about 300,000 units of LCD television, while launching the company's three new series of the Bravia LCD.

"As of last year we have five models in the Bravia range, we are expanding it to ten this year and also bring the cost down to less than Rs one lakh. This will hit the market by the end of this week," he added.
