Japanese electronic major Sony is eyeing a 30 per cent market share in the liquid crystal display (LCD) segment in the financial year 2009-10 as against 28 per cent in FY08.
The company has launched its new range of 14 Bravia (LCD) television in the Chandigarh market.
Addressing a press conference here, Sunil Nayyar, general manager (sales), Sony India, said in 2009-10 the company was aiming to sell 450,000 television units as against 280,000 units in 2008.
Nayyar maintained that Sony plans to be the leader in value terms in the LCD segment.
The domestic market for LCDs is expected to touch 1.5 million units in 2009, against a million units last year.
