Sony India today said it would spend Rs 350 crore on advertisement which would help it achieve a sales target of Rs 5,700 crore in 2010-11.

"We are aggresively campaigning and last year our advertisement spend was Rs 250 crore which be Rs 350 crore this year," Sony India senior general manager Sunil Nayyar said today. “We are also aiming for a turnover of Rs 5,700 crore this year as against Rs 3,700 crore made in 2009-10,” he said.

Three segments - LCDs, laptops and camera - are the major growth drivers for the company, Nayyar said.

Increase in the number of channel partners across the country had also contributed to a healthy sales growth of 46 per cent to Rs 2,600 crore in the first six months of the current fiscal over the corresponding period. Nayyar, speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the Alpha NEX series cameras priced between Rs 29,990 and Rs 34,990, said the camera segment currently contributes 20 per cent of the total sales.
