Hyderabad-based SPG Media Private Limited expects its turnover to touch $3 million next fiscal. The company is the Indian subsidiary of the UK-based $42-million international business-to-business media company, SPG Media Group Plc.

Addressing a press conference here today, Steve Nicholson, chairman of SPG Media Group Plc, said, "The Indian subsidiary has been operational from September 2003. During this period, the revenues earned from various channels touched $1.5 million and it is expected to increase in the coming years."

"We also publish a magazine called Pharmaceutical Focus Asia out of India. Another magazine called Asian Hospital will be published from June onwards," Nicholson said. The company delivers 130 different products and services across 14 industries in 85 countries.

The company is hopeful of launching its search engine for business users during the current calendar year. "Apart from this, we will also be updating the website 'SPGglobal.com' on 17 different verticals during this year, which would help the B2B community," he said.

The website, which at present has information relating to the packaging industry in Asia, would be updated on other verticals like pharmaceuticals, healthcare, IT and construction.

Out of the 450 employees that the group has, 115 are located in Hyderabad and the company plans to increase this to 180 by the end of this year.

Nicholson said that they would also be expanding operations and open offices in Nottingham and in Cape Town, besides having satellite offices in other Asian countries that would be controlled by the Indian subsidiary.

SPG Media is also organising a four-day meet on EU Outsourcing from June 16 to 19 in Dubai.

"The EU Outsourcing Forum India-2005 will bring together the European buyers and the Indian sellers of outsourcing services in various fields such as application development, bill processing, data warehousing and secretarial services," he said.

The forum is expected to provide an opportunity to meet at predetermined times to discuss and advance commercial interests.
