Spice Comm, iGate & Binani Cement Q1 results

Spice Comm loss at Rs 34.9 cr

BK Modi Group arm Spice Communication’s net loss for the quarter ended June 2009 shrunk by 74 per cent to Rs 34.9 crore. The net loss posted for the similar quarter last year was Rs 136.4 crore. However, total income earned for the period ending June 2009 inched up by 5.15 per cent to Rs 330.07 crore.

iGate net rises 22%

iGate Corp, the Nasdaq-listed software company, on Wednesday posted a 22 per cent rise in the quarterly net profit at $6.1 million supported by cost controls, but its revenue slumped on a year-on-year basis. Revenue from continuing operations for the reported quarter stands at $46.8 million, compared to $44.8 million in the previous quarter and $56.2 million in the same period last year, the company said.

 

Binani Cement net doubles

Binani Cement, part of the Braj Binani group, has posted a rise of 100.19 per cent in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 106.70 crore, compared with Rs 53.30 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company’s net sales during the period stood at Rs 524.30 crore against Rs 325.99 crore, up 60.83 per cent.
