The ‘On-Time Guarantee’ programme, which kicks off from Tuesday, however, doesn’t apply to delays owing to reasons that are beyond the airline’s control such as weather, air traffic congestion, etc. The new offer comes in the backdrop of an improvement in SpiceJet’s on-time performance over the past few months.
“We have delivered a significant improvement in our OTP (on-time performance) over the past few months. This is our way of ensuring our customers we will continue to deliver our on-time performance. We are not just saying it but guaranteeing that we will not delay our flights,” said Kaneswaran Avili, chief commercial officer of SpiceJet.
Passengers affected by flight delays of more than 60 minutes (due to reasons in control of SpiceJet) will be given a Rs 500 voucher for their next travel. Similarly, passengers travelling on flights cancelled or delayed by over 120 minutes will be given a voucher of Rs 1,000. All redemptions can be made on Spicejet.com.
As soon as the flight gets delayed or cancelled, the passenger will receive a message and email indicating the voucher details and redemption process. Affected customers can also claim their voucher by visiting the company’s website.
