Movies and events are all generating additional TRPs (television rating points) for general entertainment channel STAR Plus, which has jumped back to its leadership position after three weeks.
It did this on the back of the Star Parivaar Awards, which gave the channel a boost of 42 GRPs (gross rating points), along with a TVR (television viewer rating) of 5.66 (source TAM) for the week ended June 13.
As per TAM data, STAR Plus added 20 GRPs from its previous week’s tally to pocket 266 GRPs. Colors, on the other hand, shed 38 GRPs to end the week with a score of 232 GRPs.
STAR Parivaar Awards, aired on Saturday at 8 pm, garnered a TVR of 5.66 to become the second most watched property on television in Week 24. Each TVR point measures 1 per cent of viewers in a surveyed area over a minute
Colors is at No 2 in Week 24, with a loss of 38 GRPs from last week and a drop in its relative share from 23 per cent to 20 per cent. Its top-rated show, Balika Vadhu, is at No 4 this week in the list of Top 10 most watched programmes.

Zee TV, at No 3, has recorded 221 GRPs in Week 24, which is 14 GRPs less than last week. Its relative channel share stands at 19 per cent.
Among the Top 10 programmes on Hindi GECs, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai rules the charts again, with the highest TVR of 5.9. Bidaai has recorded a TVR of 5.35, followed by Balika Vadhu, which garnered 5.3. Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, the most popular show on Zee, has recorded a TVR of 4.31.
Uttaran on Colors managed to fetch 3.5 TVR, followed by Chhoti Bahu on Zee which got 3.4 TVR. The other popular shows on GECs were: Jai Shri Krishna, Na Aana Is Des Laado and Betiyaan Ghar Ki Lakshmi.
