Bridging Gaps, a skill training provider, released a survey report which brought out the stark reality and mismatch between the skills of the youth and the needs of the industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Madan Mohan Mittal, Minister for Industry & Commerce, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab said, "It is an irony that industry in Punjab is suffering from non-availability of manpower, whereas there is a huge manpower available which industry is finding unemployable."
Mittal also said it pleased him to see young entrepreneurs with good industry background coming forward to bridge this gap. He said skill development was a focus area of his government and his department is taking many initiatives to augment the infrastructure in the state in this regard.
