Uniphore Software raises funding
Chennai-based Uniphore Software Systems, a pioneer in Indian language speech recognition solutions, has raised an undisclosed sum from a consortium of investors that include Indian Angel Network, YourNest Angel Fund, and Ray Stata, co-founder of Analog Devices. Uniphore will use the funds for expansion. The company plans to foray into other non-English speaking regions such as southeast Asia and West Asia. Uniphore will also look to strengthen its speech-based products and create more context-based and personalised applications.

Bhupathi's Sports365 gets funding
Bangalore-based Sports365, the Mahesh Bhupathi-backed e-commerce company that retails sports and fitness products, has raised an undisclosed amount from Powerhouse Ventures, according to a report on legal news website Bar & Bench. Delhi-based law firm Gnarus Partners advised the US-based investment firm, which invests in the technology sector, specially mobile-internet innovations. Launched in 2012, Sports365 sells sports equipment and accessories such as tennis rackets, fitness shoes and apparel, among other items.
