Starwood to take over Palladium Hotel in Mumbai

The 38-story St. Regis Mumbai will feature 386 well-appointed guest rooms, including 60 suites

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc, today announced its debut in India with the scheduled opening of a property in Mumbai.

The St. Regis Mumbai will open in the third quarter of 2015. Owned by Pallazzio Hotels & Leisure the Palladium Hotel is currently undergoing an extensive rebranding and will soon have the St. Regis flag flying on its premises.

Located at Lower Parel, the hotel was being operated by the Ruia family who are the owners of the property. The hotel shares the surrounding with the Phoenix Mills shopping complex and the Palladium Mall.

The 38-story St. Regis Mumbai will feature 386 well-appointed guest rooms, including 60 suites. The hotel's sophisticated culinary offerings will include an all-day dining restaurant featuring a wide range of gourmet selections from around the world, four specialty restaurants, a club lounge, and three bars. The St. Regis Mumbai will also feature the Iridium Spa.

Other leisure facilities include a swimming pool and a fitness centre. For meetings and events, the hotel will offer over 5,200 square meters of event space including a 4200-square-meter grand ballroom.

The St. Regis Mumbai will join Starwood's growing portfolio of hotels in India where the company currently operates 43 hotels, with an additional 37 hotels in the pipeline. The company is set to debut more new hotels in the next two years including W Retreat & Spa Goa, The Westin Kolkata, Sheraton Hyderabad, Le Meridien Nagpur and Aloft New Delhi Aerocity.
