The steel and mines department has pulled up the steel and pellet projects proposed in the state for non submission of financial and physical progress report.

A stern directive from the department has asked 36 companies individually to furnish the progress reports at the earliest.

Among others, the companies include big ticket projects like Posco, Arcelor Mittal, Jindal Steel & Power, Brahmani River pellets limited , Adhunik Metalicks ltd etc.

"The submission of physical and financial progress report up to December 31, 2012 has been inordinately delayed which has been viewed seriously," B Behera, Under Secretary, Steel and Mines department wrote to the companies.

In January, the steel and mines department had sought the progress report from the steel makers and asked them to submit it by January, 31.

The department maintained that even after sending reminders, these companies have failed to comply.
