Sterlite Tech wins $17.5 mn Ethiopian order

Sterlite Technologies today announced that it has received a contract from Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo), Ethiopia for manufacture and supply power transmission conductors.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, the contract is valued at $17.5 million (approximately Rs 70 crore). The delivery of this contract is scheduled from April 2008 through September 2008.

The contract involved manufacturing and supplying for over 17,000 kilometre (km) of all aluminium alloy conductors that would be installed in the 4,000 km route length of the "Accelerated Electrification Programme (AEP) Project" being executed under World Bank funding in Ethiopia.
