Strand to get more work from MediBic

Speaking to Business Standard Yasuhiro Hashimoto, president and CEO, MediBic Japan said that after seeing Strand Genomics' capabilities, we planed to engage them with marketing informatics solution to Japanese pharmaceutical companies in addition to more product co-development activities.
 
"There is a lot of market potential for capabilities built by Strand Genomics, many Japanese pharma companies critically need their assistance to take drug discovery forward," he added.
 
MediBic, a few months ago had taken a minority stake in Strand Genomics and also entered into a long-term business partnership to develop and market informatics solutions.
 
The strategic investment from MediBic is enabling Strand to further intensify its development of informatics and modelling technologies for the Japanese market.
 
"The investment in Strand Genomics is indicative of our interest in a long term business relationship between us while also encouraging our collaborative business partnership to bear fruit in a short period," Hashimoto.
 
"The investment also help the Strand realise future business opportunities in the $100 million Japanese data mining industry," he added.
