Su-Raj Diamonds net up 22% to Rs 37.4 cr |
Su-Raj Diamonds and Jewellery, one of the leading players in the Indian gem and jewellery industry, has reported 22 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 37.40 crore for the year 2005-06 as compared with Rs 30.68 crore in the previous year. |
The company witnessed 19 per cent growth in net income at Rs 1,220 crore for the year under consideration. Revenues from the jewellery business continued to grow 36 per cent to Rs 654 crore as compared with Rs 483 crore in the previous year. The Kolkata unit for jewellery has commenced operations during the last quarter. |
While announcing the annual result, Jatin Mehta, chairman and managing director of the company, said, "Our focus is mainly on the international markets and our export growth reflects our strategy in the US and European markets. We target a growth rate of 35-45 per cent in the coming years as our jewellery export to the US, UK and Middle East is escalating. Our new unit at Kolkata will have exclusive ethnic Indian jewellery." |
The EPS for the period stood at Rs 9.35 as against Rs 7.67 in the last year. |
Tamil Nadu Newsprint net up 45% |
Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers has reported 45 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 34.60 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared with Rs 23.83 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Total income for the company grew 20 per cent to Rs 221.07 crore from Rs 184.07 crore. |
For the year ended March 31, 2006, the company has posted growth of 112 per cent in net profit at Rs 80.55 crore as against Rs 37.95 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005. |
Total income was higher by 20 per cent at Rs 801.41 crore as compared with Rs 668.22 crore. The board has recommended the final dividend of 15 per cent for the financial year 2005-06. Along with the interim dividend of 15 per cent already paid, the total dividend for the year is 30 per cent. |
