Harvard University students here got lessons on life and philosophy from Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy, who advised business and public policy students on self-motivation and importance of nurturing "positive human environment" for personal and professional growth.
Addressing Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School students, Roy said it is important for employees to be self-motivated as that results in high productivity at the workplace.
"Any leader should first be an ideal guardian and an able teacher," Roy said in his keynote address during the 'India Conference' organised at Harvard yesterday.
Sahara is looking at tie-ups with Harvard University that will include visits by faculty members to interact with Sahara managers in India.
Roy said his company plans to take on board around 30 MBA students from the business school.
