"We are planning to set up an English medium school to extend quality education to children of our member farmers and employees. While we have ample land with us, we are exploring a prime property in the middle of the district for the school," said Madhu Shrivastava, chairman of Sugam Dairy.

Among related services, the dairy will also provide transportation facility to the children. "In the preliminary stage, we will conduct classes from Std I to VII and subsequently add further classes in stages.

The fee structure will be at par with the farmers' standards. Apparently, members' children will have education from nursery to college in the dairy premises. The whole picture will be clearer after elections next year," said Shrivastava.

"The basic reason for the school is to provide quality education to our poor farmer's children. Besides, we are also envisaging a captive power plant for which we are short of land in our dairy premises. At present, we are scouting for sufficient land for the purpose.

Moreover, we are in the process of setting up a chilling center with capacity of 1,00,000 litre of milk per day at Savli, for which we will invest around Rs 2-4 crores," he added.
