Sujana Energy eyes Rs 500 cr from lighting

Sujana Energy Limited, part of the diversified Sujana group, is expecting revenues of Rs 500 crore in three to four years from the lighting segment.

The company is targeting three segments- street lighting, indoor and solar products, according to its managing director, Hari Kiran Chereddi. “The volumes will come from government, muncipal and corporate orders. We are hoping for operating margins of 25 to 30 per cent,” he said.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday to announce a partnership with Nichia Corporation, a Japanese supplier of white LEDs, he said the company had so far has invested about $5 million (Rs 23.65 crore) in its facility for offering lighting solutions.

 

As part of the partnership, Sujana will get LEDs from Nichia for use in lighting accessories. These would be made at its Madhapur plant here. “We will make the LED systems to suit the Indian conditions,” he said.
