Sun TV Network to bet on OTT biz Sun NXT, invest in exclusive content

With 8,000 movie titles in its kitty, the company is now looking at improving this business and is expected to finalise plans to put exclusive content in the app

Sun TV Network may look at betting on its over-the-top (OTT) business, Sun NXT, with exclusive content, though it had not been bullish on the platform initially. The renewed interest comes with the management identifying that there is a clear indication that the OTT model has potential, which would also go in hand with its plans to create its own content with new movies through Sun Pictures and on its channels.  

The company launched the digital content platform with content in four languages -- Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada -- in June 2017 and has been expanding the content
