Sun TV's launches SFM services in Nashik

One of the major television networks in the country, Sun TV Network has launched FM radio station in Nashik, under the brand name 'SFM'.

The company has plans to launch three SFM stations in Maharashtra within a month and another new 14 stations in the country within the next six months.

SFM is a part of Sun TV's subsidiary, South Asia FM. With the launch of SFM in Nashik, the total operation FM stations of Sun TV have gone up to 28.

Across India, it already operates in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Madurai, Lucknow, Bhopal, Pondicherry, Indore, Vijayawada, Varanasi, Tiruchy, Rajahmundry, Kanpur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Mangalore, Kannur, Allahabad, Jabalpur, Mysore, Guwahati and Jamshedpur.

 

Speaking to Business Standard, Zareena Khader, Producer (Project Team), South Asia FM, said, "The Company holds license for 45 stations in the country. Out of which, 28 are already operational. After the launch of '93.5 SFM' in Nashik, we are shortly launching SFM service in three more cities in Maharashtra - Aurangabad, Pune and Nagpur, within a month. The rest of the 14 new stations will be launched in other parts of the country within six months."

"Our priority will be to target the young generation in the age group of 18-35. We will deliver a higher mix of musical properties and 75 per cent of content will be based on music, 10 per cent each on information & contests and 5 per cent will be based on ads," said Madan Pardeshi, Station Head, 93.5 SFM, Nashik.
