Sun TV Network will restructure its distribution business and team with the creation of two verticals one focused on managing the South Indian operations and the international business and the second focused on expanding the Sun TV bouquet into the north, west and eastern markets of India.
The company in a BSE filing said that the focus of this new organisation was to distribute the Sun television channels in India and internationally via all fixed networks including cable, DTC, IPTV, HITS and MMDS.
“This is a very important initiative for us in the distribution platform business and is being created with the vision of better leveraging our very successful television brands across the country and internationally, the content assets and resources of Sun TV Network, will enable us to continue to thrive in an ever-changing media landscape.
Consumers of all of our products - on screens large and small - will have the benefit of enhanced content and experiences, delivered to them in new and better ways as a result of this initiative. It also signals our deep commitment to drive greater growth from subscription revenues,” Kalanithi Maran, chairman and managing director, Sun TV Network.
