Chennai-based Sun TV Network has signed an exclusive cable and satellite channels agreement with Nimbus Communications, which operates sports channel Neo Sports, to broadcast live feed of one-day matches during the Ireland series commencing on June 23. Cricket teams from India, Ireland, South Africa and Pakistan will participate in the series, which will be on till July 3.

The cricket matches will be telecast on the Sun News channel with Tamil commentary, Gemini News with Telugu commentary and Udaya Varthegalu with Kannada commentary and will be the first-of-its-kind in Telugu and Kannada languages, according to a company statement.

Sun TV has signed a long-term agreement with Nimbus for broadcasting any series over cricket seasons 2007-2008 and 2009-2010 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam for which Nimbus has the rights.

A company official said it was part of the company's business plan to explore more avenues to grow its topline. He declined to elaborate on the deal.

In May, Sun TV's arch rival Raj Television Network had broadcast the Neo Sports live feed for the India-Bangladesh cricket series in Tamil and Telugu.
