Renewable energy major SunEdison has signed a MoU with Tamil Nadu government to invest over Rs 12,000-14,000 crore for setting up two Gigawatt (GW) of solar and wind projects.
The investment will spread over in five years.
Pashupathy Gopalan, SunEdison's President of Asia-Pacific and Sub-Saharan African, said that the company has committed to construct 15.2 GW of wind and solar projects in India, of which the company would develop 2 GW in Tamil Nadu.
The projects will be coming up at Virudunagar, Tuticorin, Tiruchy and Perambalumr in Tamil Nadu.
