Superhouse plans to enter retail sector

The Superhouse Group, trading under the brand name of Allen Cooper, is set to foray into the retail sector.
 
The company, with a turnover of Rs 350 crore, is a leading exporter in leather goods. The company has strong presence in the US, the UK, the UAE, and Australia. It has a strong client base spread over 35 countries. The company is also listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
 
"We mainly export to European countries, France and the UK being our top clients. At present, we are keen on exploring the domestic markets with our retail wing," Mukhtarul Amin, chairman, Superhouse Ltd, told Business Standard.
 
The process is expected to complete by the end of this year. It is planning to open around 50 retail stores in the country. These stores will be both exclusive company stores as well as franchisees. According to Amin, the company is in the process of acquiring sites for them.
 
To create a niche for its leather products the company has plans to expand their operations with 100 exclusive store in the country, with ten of them in Uttar Pradesh. This will increase its count from seven to seventeen in coming few months with new stores at Allahabad, Varanasi and Kanpur.
 
The company already has Allen Cooper exclusive showrooms at Lucknow, Kanpur, Bangalore, Chennai and Vaishali. Their product portfolio includes leather shoes, jackets, bags and leather accessories.
 
Superhouse Group is the top listed vendors to world-wide brands such as Wal-Mart, Filanto, Auchan, Andre, Shoe Fayre, Hudson Bay, Heckel Securite, Secura.
