SuperProfs.com, an online platform for exam preparation run by Bengaluru-based tech startup Aurus Network, on Wednesday launched a mobile app that will enable students to connect with professors for competitive exams preparation.

The mobile app allows students to prepare for their exams anywhere, anytime, even on slow internet connections. Also, students can download the video lectures in the app on their phone and watch them online.

“The concept of mobile apps in exam preparation is still nascent in India, although with increasing smartphone penetration, the prospect to innovate in the $8-billion exam coaching market space is extensive. SuperProfs’ mobile app could cater to over 50 million students in the country, who prepare for competitive exams every year,” Piyush Agrawal, founder of SuperProfs.com, said in a release.

Founded in 2010 along with Sujeet Kumar, a BTech in computer sciences from IIT Kanpur, SuperProfs.com currently has more than 75,000 registered students and around 200 professors from across the country, teaching CA, CS, IIT-JEE, GATE etc.

“In less than four weeks of its beta launch on Google Play Store, we have seen more than 5,000 downloads of the mobile app. We expect to cross the 10,000 downloads mark in the next few weeks,” Agrawal added.
