Sutherland proposes to invest Rs 250 cr in Philippines

Sutherland forayed in the Philippines in 2005 and has a presence of over 13,000 people there

BPO major Sutherland Global Services today said it will invest $50 million (Rs 250 crore) as part of expansion plans in the Philippines.

The company will invest $50 million in the 8,000 people integrated technology and BPO campus to be set up in Carmona Cavite, the Philippines, Sutherland said in a release.

Sutherland forayed in the Philippines in 2005 and has a presence of over 13,000 people there.

The ground breaking ceremony for the campus was done by the Philippines President Benigno Aquino and Sutherland Global Services Chairman and CEO Dilip Vellodi.

"We truly appreciate the rapid growth Sutherland has achieved in our country over the years providing significant employment opportunities to our young workforce" Aquino said.

Sutherland currently has offshore delivery facilities in Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai and Vishakapatnam.

"The Carmona campus will be an integrated delivery centre for our global clients", Vellodi said.
