Sutures sets up medical devices facility in Sri City

The Bangalore-based company has invested over Rs 12 crore in this unit

Bangalore-based manufacturer of medical devices Sutures India on Thursday inaugurated its facility at Sri City in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.

The unit, with a capacity to manufacture surgical sutures and mesh will, export to over 75 countries. It would help the company meet market demand and fortify its position worldwide, a release stated. The facility in Sri City will cater to the growing market in Asean and European regions.

Sri City offers all the advantages of a special economic zone with a metropolitan location and was selected primarily on suitability of land, availability of utilities, labour, logistics, quality of life and SEZ special factors, LG Chandrasekhar, chairman, Sutures India, stated in the release.

 

Ravindra Sannareddy, managing director of Sri City, said, “Sutures India is the third pharmaceutical company in Sri City and the second to commence production in a short stint. They have invested over Rs 12 crore in this unit. The facility is expected to employ over 50 people in the first phase and as demand increases will touch 200-plus.”
