Wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy today said its North American-arm has signed an order worth about $45 million for supply of 20 wind turbines with US-based Duke Energy.
Suzlon Wind Energy Corp will deliver 20 units of the S88-2.1 megawatt wind turbine to the US firm Duke Energy in July.
The contract will provide turbines for Duke Energy's Silver Sage Windpower Project in Cheyenne.
"The US market has not been very good in the last couple of months. Not many orders have been placed during this time. This order, worth about $45-million, represents an important step forward in the challenging economic environment we are working in," Suzlon Energy's Chief Operating Officer, Sumant Sinha, told PTI here.
"In the last one month, we've signed orders close to 400 Mw, which translates into Rs 2.5 crore," he said.
The BSE-listed firm said it will provide operations and maintenance through a five-year service agreement with Duke Energy.
