Suzlon Energy posts huge net loss of Rs 356 cr

Wind turbine supplier, Suzlon Energy, has posted a net loss of Rs 356 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 against a net loss of Rs 23 crore for the corresponding previous quarter.

During the quarter under review, the company posted a decline of 31 per cent in its revenues at Rs 4,793 crore against Rs 6,921 crore for the same quarter previous year.

The company has revised its guidance to 1,900 MW to 2,100 MW. Sales guidance for its subsidiary REpower is in the range of  EURO 1.4 billion.

"The company is looking at comprehensive debt refinancing to improve its capital structure and increase financial flexibility," the company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.  Boston Consulting Group is advising the company on business strategies to adapt to evolving marketplace; strong focus on operational efficiency improvements, the release added.
