With the Andhra Pradesh government likely to privatise printing of textbooks, Hyderabad-based SVPCL Ltd. is likely to initiate talks with the State Education Board for the job.

The company, which manufactures books, computer stationary, paper products and other stationary also offers printing services. It aims to increase its market share in notebooks from current 10 per cent to around 30 per cent in the state.

Speaking on the company's expansion plans, Managing Director K Mallikarjuna Reddy said that they were interested in bagging the project and were also setting up branch offices in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

SVPCL is also looking to source orders for printed products from the United States, Europe, West Asia and Africa.

SVPCL is also expanding capacity at its manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam from 19,400 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 34,000 MTPA.

It is also equipping its Vishakhapatnam facilities with modern processing and printing equipment to cater to international clients looking to outsource printing services to India.

Out of its Rs 65 crore turnover in 2006-07, its notebooks business contributed around 40 per cent, printing services around 30 per cent, while the rest came from magazines and other products.
