Swaraj Engines Ltd, the manufacturer of engines for tractors and hi-tech engine components for Swaraj Mazda, has posted a marginal 0.85 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 4.72 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 4.68 crore in the comparable period last year.
Total income of the company, though, grew by 16.38 per cent to Rs 46.59 crore from Rs 38.96 crore.
For the first nine month period of the current fiscal, however, Swaraj Engines posted a 35.32 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 15.57 crore as against Rs 10.07 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Total income of the company recorded a healthy 90 per cent growth at Rs 158.23 crore for the period ending December 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 89.41 crore in the same period last year.
