Luxury Swiss watch maker Rado would globally introduce its unique collection "D/Star" by this year-end, a top company official said today.

"We were the first to introduce watches made of full ceramic. Now we will be unveiling the new collection made of hightech material D/Star this year," Rado Watch Company Executive Management-Member and Vice-President (Sales) Olivier Cosandier told reporters here today.

The Rado D/Star model in India is likely to be priced in the range from Rs 70,000 onwards.

He said the uniqueness of the watch was that it was made of high technology ceramic and steel.

Stating that the company was witnessing a "strong" growth in the emerging markets like India, Greater China and in the South East Asian countries, Cosandier said the quality infrastructure available and the growing middle class were one of the major drivers for their growth.

"We are growing stronger in emerging markets...In India we are ranked in one of the top three brands," he said but declined to give out figures.

He said though Europe and the US markets have reached their "saturation" level, the growth in the emerging markets were giving a major boost to their sales.

"In India I will say the middle class has evolved in the last 10 years. Particularly, the younger generation were able to afford (these watches)," he said.

Cosandier and senior company officials were here to unveil their 14th store in the country. Actor Madhavan who launched the store at Express Avenue shopping mall lauded the watch maker for coming out with a service centre first and then opening new stores strategy.

"It is the only brand to open service centre first ahead of opening a new brand store. I always aspire Rado for their commitment," he said.

Madhavan also unveiled a new range of watch collections priced between Rs 40,000 and Rs 40 lakh.
