In a bid to woo more overseas tourists to Orissa during the peak tourism season, city-based Swosti Travels Limited has approached two leading US-based adventure tour operators to roll out an eco-adventure tourism package in the state’s Bhitarkanika region, known for its mangrove forests and crocodile sanctuary.
As a part of the proposed package, Swosti Travels has planned eco-adventure camps at Bhitarkanika to enable the foreign tourists to get a feel of the ambience of the wildlife tour destination. “We have approached two leading US-based adventure tour operators for the eco-adventure tourism package and the collaboration with these tour operators is gong to materialise soon”, Sailendra Patnaik, general manager of Swosti Travels told Business Standard.
As a part of its adventure tour package for Bhitarkanika, Swosti Travels has also included crocodile tours which will be akin to camel and tiger safari expeditions being offered by the tour operators of Rajasthan for luring foreign tourists. Besides crocodile tours, Swosti Travels is offering giant turtle tour to showcase the unique Olive Ridley turtles which come for nesting on the Rushikulya and Gahirmatha beaches.
The travel operator has also planned a dolphin tour at Chilika’s eastern coast and a tour to watch the exotic migratory birds on the western coast of the lagoon. Moreover, Swosti Travels has rolled out a creative tour package to facilitate the interaction of the overseas tourists with the locals in locations like Raghurajpur and also in the tribal dominated regions.
Under the creative tour package, the travel operator has made special arrangements to accommodate the international tourists who are keen on observing the art, culture and lifestyle of local artisans and tribals from close quarters.
This time, we are also offering Mystique Orissa Tour, which among other things will exhibit some of the incredible feats like breathing without air practiced in the Aska region and also the Kalupadaghat physiotherapy, said Patnaik.
