Syed Nasir Ali takes charge as Air India joint MD

The post was remaining vacant for the past three years

Syed Nasir Ali took charge as joint managing director of Air India. Ali, an Indian Revenue Service officer of the 1990 batch, was director in the Civil Aviation Ministry before being appointed as joint MD. He was also member of the committee to review the implementation of Dharmadhikari Committee on integration and HR issues in the airline.

The position of joint MD was created following the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines and latter's managing director V Trivedi was the first joint MD post merger. The position was left vacant for the past three years.
