Symbol to up India staffing

US-based Symbol Technologies, which is into the area of enterprise mobility solutions, announced here on Thursday that they will expand their presence in India.
 
According to Todd Hewlin, senior VP "" Global Products Group, Symbol, "We crossed 110 employees a few weeks ago. Our strength here has doubled over the last six months and we will double again in twelve months time."
 
The company, which has had its development centre in Bangalore for the last three years, has marked 80,000 square feet of new space for their future developments and intends to grow to 500 in two years.
 
"So far we have invested $10 million in the country. We will invest another $30 million as we continue to ramp up our India operations," said Hewlin.
 
The India centre works on mobility software and handles 55 per cent of the total work in Symbol. It also works on embedded platforms.
