Taj Hotels expands Vivanta brand, opens new property in K'taka

Vivanta by Taj ? Madikeri, Coorg is the fourth Vivanta Hotel to be launched in 2012

Vivanta by Taj – Hotels and Resorts, owned and managed by Taj group of hotels, has expanded its network by adding a new property in Karnataka’s hill station - Madikeri.

This hotel is the 25th property in the Vivanta portfolio since the brand was launched in 2010. Situated at an altitude of 4,000 ft, within 180 acres of subtropical rainforest, the hotel offers panoramic view of the Western Ghats and imposing mountains that Coorg is famous for.

Speaking on the launch, Raymond N Bickson, MD & CEO, Indian Hotels Company Limited, said, “Vivanta by Taj – Madikeri, Coorg is Taj Group’s first hill station hotel. It presents Coorg in a new avatar with a 'One with nature' themed rainforest experience. The hotel offers experiences like earth craft, adventure trails and survival training, a Coorg conservatory and destination cued dining and cultural motifs.”

 

The new hotel has 63 rooms and villas and presidential Nirvana Suite.

Abhijit Mukerji, Executive Director, Indian Hotels Company Limited, said, “The Vivanta by Taj brand is on a rapid expansion. We have opened hotels in exciting leisure destinations as well as cities. Vivanta by Taj – Madikeri, Coorg is the 4th Vivanta Hotel to be launched in 2012.”

The Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces manages 99 hotels in 56 locations across India with an additional 16 international hotels in the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, UK, USA, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East.
