Taj to open hotel in Jalandhar

The Taj group may start a five-star hotel in Jalandhar. The group has seen a massive potential of opening its Hotel in the city, which has only one five star hotel of the International Chain of Radisson.

"There is huge potential of another five star hotel in the city of Jalandhar as the hospitality business is already proved profitable venture , as in spite of so may three star hotels in the city, rooms of all of them remain book for almost whole year", sources in hospitality industry said.

Talks were on between the Taj group and a local industrialist Sarabdeep Singh Lally, regarding the proposed venture and the final decision was expected soon.

The hotel, in all likelihood was poised to come on the outskirts of the city, somewhere on the Phagwara, Jalandhar GT road, where several resorts were already minting money due to presence of large number of NRIs in the city.

The proposed Taj hotel would be constructed on six acres and would include 150 rooms, open spaces, ultra-modern parking lots, restau rants, swimming pools and round-the clock coffee shop, sources said.
