TajGVK on expansion drive

TajGVK Hotels and Resorts Limited, which recently commissioned its fourth hotel "� Taj Chandigarh, is awaiting approvals from the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad for the expansion of Taj Residency here.

Apart from adding a 120-guest room new tower block, Taj Residency will be converted into a super luxury hotel, according to company's chairman and managing director, G V Krishna Reddy.

Replying to the shareholders' queries at the company's annual general meeting on Thursday, Reddy announced that TajGVK had also submitted bid for the proposed five-star hotel project at Madhapur, Hitech City.

He said that the hotel under construction in Chennai, acquired by the company from Sri Tripurasundari Hotels Ltd, was expected to be operational by 2007-08.
